Our Tigard office provides compassionate psychological testing services for children, teens, and young adults throughout the greater Portland area. With years of experience in child psychology, we understand that navigating the psychological testing process can be overwhelming. This is why we’ve worked hard to curate a warm and supportive environment where families can feel comfortable, ensuring your child receives the insights and resources needed to enhance their mental health and developmental well-being.
As one of two locations focused on the unique psychological needs of youth, our Tigard office collaborates with The Learning Links PDX, a trusted group of educational tutors and pediatric specialists (in the last picture to the right) serving families in Tigard, Lake Oswego, and surrounding communities.

What To Expect at our Tigard Office
We understand that the psychological testing process can be challenging. From the moment you arrive, our warm and welcoming environment is designed to put you and your child at ease. Here’s what you can expect during your visit at our Tigard office:

We’ll start with a virtual parent intake interview, usually lasting about 60–90 minutes. During this time, we’ll talk with you about your child’s history, your questions and concerns, and what you hope to gain from the evaluation. When it’s helpful, your child can join part of this conversation, so we can hear their perspective too.

Your child will complete a variety of learning, thinking, and problem-solving activities across two separate sessions. Most kids are with us for about 5–7 hours total, but we move at a pace that feels comfortable for them to do their best. Our priority is always their wellbeing.
As part of the evaluation, we also gather input from the adults who know your child best. We’ll provide any relevant questionnaires for caregivers and teachers so we can understand your child’s strengths and challenges from multiple perspectives.

After your child’s evaluation is complete we carefully review everything we’ve gathered—their assessment results, school records (such as IEPs, 504 plans, teacher feedback, and grade reports), any counseling notes, and relevant medical information.

About four weeks after your child’s evaluation, we’ll meet with you for a feedback appointment to review findings, diagnoses, and any recommendations. Within 48 hours, you’ll then receive a detailed written report that you can use at home or share with your child’s school if relevant.
For teens and young adults, we may also schedule a brief 30-min individual session to present the findings in a more age appropriate manner and answer any questions your child might have.
